The Sarasota Film Festival returns for its 15th year of celebrating the art of filmmaking while providing engaging community programs. We invite you to join us to experience the best of independent film from new and veteran filmmakers on the No. 1 beach in the world.
THE FILMS
We emphasize the best in new cinema alongside exciting repertory work with more than 180 choices each year including features, documentaries, shorts, and kid-friendly picks. During the Festival, films run from 10 a.m. to midnight daily at Regal Cinemas Hollywood 20 on Main Street in downtown Sarasota.

THE EVENTS
Make time in your busy viewing schedule for events the Sarasota Film Festival is known for, including red carpet soirees like the Opening Night Film and Party or the bayfront Cinema Tropicale Celebration. We welcome celebrity guests, film lovers, and local filmmakers alike with the best in dining, entertainment and spectacular settings. Our Conversation Series features intimate discussions throughout the week with accomplished stars, writers and directors, offering a considered look inside their art while our annual Closing Night Film with Filmmaker Tribute Awards closes out the Festival in grand style at the Sarasota Opera House. EDUCATION + COMMUNITY OUTREACH
In addition to providing stellar films and events, we are also committed to giving area kids access to the art of filmmaking at no cost to them or their families. Our Education Department works with local students year round, teaching them how to write, direct, shoot, and evaluate films, empowering them with critical thinking skills and the tools to express themselves.
