Established as a non-profit arts organization in 1998, the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) strives to offer a diverse and thought-provoking array of domestic, foreign, independent and studio films that engage both the film industry and local audiences. Debuting in 1999 as a 3-day festival featuring just 8 films, SFF has expanded to 10 days with over 200 films, sensational special events and parties, and various opportunities to converse with some of the leading voices in film today. SFF has grown to offer nationally-recognized outreach and education programs and numerous year-round programs that foster the creative and cultural development of the region.
The mission of the Sarasota Film Festival is to celebrate the art of filmmaking and the contribution of filmmakers by hosting an international film festival and developing year-long programs for the economic, educational and cultural benefit of our community.
