About this film

Sunlight Children Matter is the inspirational story of Donald Gray’s life-long quest to save children trapped in the darkness of economic and social despair began when he honored his spiritual and moral convictions. Turning his back on a lucrative business career, he created an organization to “save one child at a time,” from a cycle of poverty, violence, drugs and family disintegration. Donald’s quest to save at-risk children is a real and genuine tale of compassion, love and perseverance. He lives the love he teaches and tries to break down barriers among races, ethnicities, social classes and political ideologies. When you understand that the challenges he and the children face in small-town North Carolina are the same as children in Chicago or Miami—indeed nationwide—his call for people to quit pointing fingers and together seek solutions is a call our society needs to answer.
