About this film
Cape Cod artist Anne Packard is now 92 years old and still painting.. Though sheβd shown exceptional promise as a teenager, her traditional parents decided she would become either a nurse or a secretary. She failed at both, but did attract a handsome young teacher in the meantime. She gave up dreams of being an artist until a simple gift of paints inspired her and she started painting again. Five children and a divorce later, she began selling her paintings which began to attract the attention of collectors and galleries. Soon she and her three daughters owned their own gallery and her work was going for thousands. Arthur Egeli (The Art Thief, SFF 2024) has crafted and enlightening portrait finds Packard on the last day she visits the Provincetown gallery that helped make her famous and looking back at her life, her will to create as strong as ever.
