Education Programs Continue Year-Round

While the annual festival captures the spotlight each April, the Sarasota Film Festival's commitment to film education runs year-round. Our education programs provide hands-on filmmaking experiences for students of all ages, nurturing the next generation of storytellers.
Programs Include
- Summer Film Camps — Intensive weeklong camps where students write, shoot, and edit their own short films
- Cinematheque — A curated screening series that brings thought-provoking cinema to the community throughout the year
- Youth Film Competition — Students ages 8–18 premiere their films in a theatrical setting, complete with a red carpet experience, competing for awards and recognition
- School Partnerships — Collaborations with local institutions including Ringling College of Art and Design
These programs are made possible through the generous support of our sponsors and donors. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, every contribution directly supports our mission to celebrate filmmaking and develop educational programs for our community.
